Christian Vows

With Christ as our welcome, I promise to keep a place for grace at our table. I will receive your joys without envy, your questions without fear, and your burdens without keeping score. I promise to practice hospitality in our home, generosity in our decisions, and forgiveness in our failures. May our marriage make room for prayer, laughter, neighbors, and the love of God made visible in daily bread.

I promise that our marriage will be a cord of three strands, with Christ as the center that holds us together. As it is written in Ecclesiastes, 'A threefold cord is not quickly broken.' I vow to love you as God loves us—patiently, kindly, and unconditionally—now and for all eternity.

As God's chosen one, holy and dearly loved, I promise to clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. I vow to bear with you and forgive you, just as the Lord forgave us. And over all these virtues, I put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

"You are far more precious than jewels." I promise to trust you with my heart, to do you good and not harm all the days of my life, and to honor the wisdom and kindness in your spirit.

"Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground." Today, I vow to let the Holy Spirit lead our marriage. I promise to love you with a Christ-like devotion, to serve you with a humble heart, and to walk beside you on level ground and through the valleys.

Before our Creator and in the presence of those who pray over us, I pledge to love you as Christ loves. I promise to extend grace when we stumble, to practice patience in all circumstances, and to build a home rooted in prayer, hospitality, and truth. I vow to shepherd your heart with gentleness, to seek God's wisdom as our guide through every valley and mountain, and to cherish you faithfully as my partner in faith, my companion in ministry, and my beloved friend for all the days He gives us on this earth.

"Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." (Ruth 1:16). I take you to be my wedded spouse, promising to walk this path of faith with you, hand in hand, until the Lord calls me home.

I promise to serve Christ by loving you in small things. I will pray with you, forgive with humility, and seek wisdom when our path is unclear. May our home be marked by patience, gratitude, and grace, and may our marriage point us back to the One who first taught us love.

"Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death." I promise that my love for you will be a fire that no water can quench.

By God's grace, I will make forgiveness the doorway back to us. I promise to speak truth without cruelty, to listen with a humble heart, and to pray before pride becomes distance. I will rejoice in your gifts, carry burdens beside you, and serve our home in ways both seen and unseen. When we lose our way, I will remember the mercy we have received and choose again the covenant we begin today.

With God's mercy before us, I promise to make rest a holy part of our love. I will not measure your worth by your work or ask you to carry every worry alone. I will pray with you when words are hard, celebrate the gifts God is growing in you, and help protect quiet places where we can listen again. May our marriage make room for Sabbath, forgiveness, laughter, and the steady peace of Christ.

With Christ in our keeping, I promise to love you with patience and joy. I will listen before I answer, forgive before resentment grows, and serve you in the small work that makes a life together. I will pray for your burdens, celebrate your gifts, and remind you of God's faithfulness when either of us forgets. By His grace, I will choose you not only in the bright moments, but in every ordinary day we are given.
