Biblical Vows

I take you to be my spouse, not out of lust, but in truth and with sincerity. I ask the Lord to have mercy on us and grant that we may grow old together in health and peace. I promise to walk this path of holiness with you, honoring our union as a sacred reflection of God's love.

And over all these virtues I put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. I promise to let the peace of Christ rule in my heart, and to be thankful for you every single day.

We stand here not just as two, but as three. I vow to keep God at the center of our marriage, knowing that "a cord of three strands is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12). I promise to pray with you, to serve with you, and to love you as Christ loves the Church.

"You are far more precious than jewels." I promise to trust you with my heart, to do you good and not harm all the days of my life, and to honor the wisdom and kindness in your spirit.

"Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." (Ruth 1:16). I take you to be my wedded spouse, promising to walk this path of faith with you, hand in hand, until the Lord calls me home.

"Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death." I promise that my love for you will be a fire that no water can quench.
