Poetic Vows

I stand before you, as the wind and the sea are my witnesses. I promise to be your strength in the storm, your warmth in the winter, and your constant companion through all the turning seasons of our lives. As the river flows to the sea, so my heart flows to you, now and forevermore.

I will be your shelter in the storm and your anchor in the tide. Wherever you are is where I belong.

I choose you in silence and in song, in peak and in valley. You are my choice today, and every day for the rest of my life.

I give you my hand, I give you my heart, and I give you my love, from this day until my very last.

In all the days to come, I promise to hold your hand, share your burdens, and multiply your joy.

Ye are blood of my blood, and bone of my bone. I give ye my body, that we two might be one. I give ye my spirit, 'til our life shall be done. You cannot possess me for I belong to myself, but while we both wish it, there is nothing I own that is not yours.

In the name of God, I take you to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.
