Communication Vows

I promise to send the calendar invite before asking why you forgot. I will include the address, check the time zone, and resist scheduling a serious conversation when either of us is hungry. I promise to laugh when our perfectly organized plan becomes a beautiful mess, and to remember that efficiency is not the same as love. Whatever fills our days, I will keep making time for kindness, repair, and the wonderfully unscheduled life between us.

I promise that my love for you will always be an action, not just a feeling. I vow to show up for you daily, to communicate openly even when it's hard, and to continually invest in our partnership. I choose you, exactly as you are, to be my family.
